  1. Just wanted to mentioned that I may have read these first two books a bit differently than other people. I had read about 1/3 of the way through Unwilling from Earth, and then ended up on this site and read Andrew’s “Why did I Write Hunter, Warrior, Commander. Decided to buy it and read a few pages before continuing with Unwilling. I ended up reading all of HWC and then going back to Unwilling and finished it. That slightly odd reading order actually ended up making the two books more interesting I think.

I would also like to find the short story about Mark’s visit to Earth.

  2. Hi Quinton

    Thanks for your message.

Unwilling From Earth was written first, and I originally wrote it as a standalone novel. I had planned to write more stories set in the Peoples universe, but not necessarily connected to each other. However, I got so many emails and a few reviews asking when the next in the series that after finishing Hunter Warrior Commander, I started work on a follow up – which I have recently finished. I completed the first edit of the draft yesterday; this is going out to my dedicated team of beta readers today to get their feedback before my second edit – then it goes to an editor and finally to a proof-reader before publication.

Why is this relevant to your comment? I have acquiesced to reader demand (I’d be stupid not to) and the books have now turned into a series. I have had several emails from my readers referring to Hunter Warrior Commander as the first in the series, despite the fact it was the second book I wrote – so your approach does seem to be the most logical. I will be repositioning the books as a series soon and calling Hunter Warrior Commander ‘Book One’.

In answer to your question, the short story is for members of my Readers Group, who also get occasional messages from me with updates about new books and will also get more about the additional short stories and outtakes I will be giving them exclusive access to. You can join my Readers Group by completing the form at the top right of this page.
